I actually bought the song from Amazon to check out their mp3 store. The Amazon store is pretty cool; it's got an easy to use downloader, and it integrates well with iTunes. But best of all: no DRM mp3 files.

I was trolling through some old photos, and I saw this from last winter:

This particular ticketing machine has had plenty of problems; it seems like the software for it is really bad. It is possible that a better compiler/programming language would have been able to catch this exact error before angry moviegoers ever get to see it. The question is: will the better compiler actually help the programmers write better code? Or will their sloppiness just manifest in other ways?

Vanini was on a business trip to Portland, and decided to come visit. Being her first time in the Seattle area, we went and did the standard Seattle tour--go to the Pike Place Market, and up the Space Needle. Maybe next time we could go do some of the other interesting spots around town.

It was quite fun to catch up with an old friend and trade gossip about other old friends :-).
